Xiaomi has unveiled the Mix Fold 3 foldable smartphone
The company Xiaomi presented the third generation of foldable smartphone Mix Fold. The novelty received an improved hinge, advanced camera system and flagship stuffing.
The updated hinge of Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is made of a combination of high-strength steel with a tensile strength of 1800MPa and carbon ceramic. The manufacturer claims that the screen can withstand 500 thousand folding / unfolding cycles - about 200-300 thousand cycles more than the competition. In addition, the smartphone can be fixed in a half-open state in the range of 45-135 degrees. When folded, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is 10.96 mm thick, and when unfolded - only 5.26 mm.
The smartphone features an 8.03-inch internal display with 2K resolution. The external display is 6.56 inches diagonal with Full HD+ resolution. Both displays get Samsung E6 AMOLED matrix with a maximum brightness of 2600 nits, 120 Hz refresh rate and 240 Hz sensor sampling rate. The outer display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, while the inner display is protected by a 0.03mm thick protective film. Both screens support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision technologies.
At the heart of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. For cooling is responsible for the evaporation chamber with a total area of 10,934 mm². The LPDDR5X RAM capacity is 12 or 16 Gb, the internal memory capacity is 256 Gb, 512 Gb or 1 Tb. The main camera includes four sensors: 50MP (Sony IMX800, f/1.77, autofocus, 23mm, OIS), 12MP (ultra-wide-angle module, f/2.2, 15mm), 10MP (TV, f/2.0, 75mm, OIS) and 10MP (TV-periscope, f/2.92, 115mm, OIS). The smartphone uses Leica algorithms responsible for color reproduction. The resolution of the front camera (inside and outside) is 20MP.
The battery capacity is 4800 mAh. It supports 67W and 50W fast wired and wireless charging respectively. The smartphone also supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support and Hi-Res certification, three microphones and a fingerprint scanner. Android 13 with MIUI Fold is being used.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 will be available in three body variants - black, gold and "reinforced". The main panel of the black version is covered with a new material with ceramic fiber, which is 36 times stronger than glass. The company calls it Dragon Scale Fiber.
Prices for the smartphone: 12/256 Gb - $1240, 16/512 Gb - $1378, 16 Gb/1 Tb- $1515. Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 will go on sale in China on August 16.
