Google has unveiled a new Android logo
Google has unveiled a new logo for its Android operating system. This is the first redesign of the brand since 2019.
The iconic Android mascot head has been given a more "lifelike" look. The green robot is now depicted in 3D. The brand name of the system is in the same font as Google's logo, and the word "Android" is capitalized instead of lowercase, as before. In addition, the designers have added several variations of the mascot: the robot can appear in different guises depending on where it is used.
"As part of our last update, the robot became a prominent element of our logo, reflecting the playfulness that people have come to expect from Android. Today, we're giving our community's most recognizable 'non-human' a brand new 3D look," said Jason Fournier, director of brand management for Android.
The new logo will appear on the boot screen of all Android devices and in apps later this year.
