Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 get double tap gesture controls
Apple's fall presentation, which is expected to show new smartphones of the iPhone 15 lineup and other novelties, has started. The first device to be unveiled at the event was the Apple Watch Series 9 smartwatch.
The new product is now based on Apple's S9 single-chip system, which is 30% ahead of the previous platform in the Apple Watch Series 8.
Apple Watch Series 9 recognizes voice commands better and lets you control different functions with Siri. The watch has a very bright screen with a maximum brightness of up to 2000 cd/m2, which means that the image will be visible even in bright sunlight. Also in the new model was improved animation. In addition, the manufacturer added a new finger gesture (double tap), on which the watch is located, to play music, receive and end calls, take photos and videos, view menus, control widgets and other functions. All you need to do is double tap your index finger against your thumb. Simply put, double-clicking your fingers will now be analogous to pressing "OK" on a watch. Different straps were also shown, including a version made of the new FineWoven material. The price of the novelty will be 399 and 499 dollars for models without GPS module and with it, respectively.
The Watch Ultra 2 also has the same double tap function. In addition, the watch has an automatic night mode, which is activated in the dark or in a room without light. They will be 1.5 times brighter than conventional watches (up to 3000 cd/m2), will be able to display real-time environmental data, and will also allow you to connect third-party sports accessories to measure speed and other parameters. The new Watch Ultra promises up to 36 hours of battery life in normal mode and up to 72 hours in power saving mode. The watch is also advertised as Carbon Neutral, meaning it is Apple's second smart watch with a zero carbon footprint. The Watch Ultra 2 will be priced at $799.
