Xiaomi unveiled a smart display with up to 15 hours of battery life
Xiaomi has unveiled the Smart Display 8 Pro in China, which is the successor to the Smart Display 10 launched in April last year. The gadget is the first smart display in the company's lineup equipped with a battery for battery life.
The device has an 8-inch anti-glare LCD display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The screen supports touch and voice control. The gadget is based on a quad-core processor, 2 Gb of RAM and 16 Gb of permanent memory.
The 7500 mAh battery provides up to 15 hours of battery life. There is support for Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, a stereo system and a wide-angle camera that can recognize a child and automatically start the child mode with filtering of "adult" content. The operating system used is MIUI Home.
Xiaomi Smart Display 8 Pro connects to all smart gadgets in the house, interconnecting more than 3,000 devices, and serves as their compact control station. The design provides an adjustable stand.
The novelty will go on sale on August 14. The company has not yet announced the price of the device, but it is expected to be no more expensive than $138.
