Xiaomi CyberDog 2 - a robopet with 19 sensors and a hub for smart home
Two years ago, Xiaomi unveiled its first bionic four-legged robot, the CyberDog.
Now the company has unveiled a new generation of robops - CyberDog 2. The design of the four-legged robot has been changed, now it looks more like a dog - there is a muzzle and two ears. The robot is smaller, lighter and more maneuverable than the first CyberDog. Its height is 36.7 cm and weight is 8.9 kg. The speed of movement is 1.6 meters per second. CyberDog 2 features improved intelligence with realistic behaviors, and according to the company, could change the way people interact with robotics.
The robot has 19 different sensors, including a 13MP AI camera, a 1MP RGB camera, four ToF sensors, LiDAR, an ultrasonic sensor, and others. CyberDog 2 is equipped with an embedded NX processor (21 TOPS) with dual co-processors. There are four microphones for voice commands and facial recognition. Xiaomi's patented CyberGear micro actuators enable complex maneuvers such as continuous backflips and fall recovery. In addition, the CyberDog 2 has a built-in hub for smart home control. It can be used to adjust the lights or control various smart home appliances.
CyberDog 2 is an open source project and anyone can participate. The price of the robot in China is $1789.
