WhatsApp now has HD video support
In mid-August, messenger WhatsApp received support for HD photos. Now users will be able to select HD format before sending a photo or video file.
Until now, the standard resolution for videos in messenger was 864×480, now it's up to 1280×720.
After selecting a photo or video to send from the gallery, an "HD" button appears at the top of the screen, then a pop-up menu prompts you to select "Standard Quality" or "HD Quality." The file size is also displayed. Recipients will be able to choose the resolution in which they want to upload the photo or video sent to them.
It is noted that all images and videos sent via WhatsApp are protected with end-to-end encryption.
