Huawei released HarmonyOS 4.0 with built-in AI assistant and Dynamic Island counterpart

Embedded in HarmonyOS, the new version of Celia voice AI assistant utilizes the Huawei Pangu 3.0 large language model to improve user productivity in life and work. According to the company, at least 200 million cell phone users interact with Celia every month. You can interact with Celia not only by voice, but also by texts, pictures, documents and so on. Dialogs between users and Celia have become extremely natural and intuitive. The AI assistant can perform a number of tasks: writing text summaries, translation, writing emails and official documents.

One of the interesting features of the new OS is the introduction of Live Window for smartphones and tablets and Moon Window for smart watches, which are analogs of Dynamic Island. Apps will get small widgets that appear on the lock screen and in the status bar. This is how you'll be able to track the arrival of a cab, remaining timer time, voice recorder status, and more.

In addition, the company talks about improved autonomy of devices with the new OS and more than doubled speed of opening the camera app. Animations have also been improved, for example, you can minimize the app before it's even fully expanded.

You can install the HarmonyOS 4 beta now, with a release coming later. The beta will run until December this year. The list of supported devices is very extensive.
