Microsoft has integrated Python into Excel
Microsoft has integrated the Python programming language into Excel. Beta testers of Microsoft 365 Insiders can try out the new feature. The feature will first be released in Excel for Windows, and will be available on other platforms later. Python in Excel will be included in the introductory Microsoft 365 subscription, but a number of features without a paid license will be limited.
"You can manipulate data in Excel using Python charts and libraries, and then use Excel formulas, charts and summary tables to further refine your ideas. Now you can perform advanced data analysis in the familiar Excel environment by accessing Python directly from the Excel ribbon," said Microsoft's Stefan Kinnestrand.
Microsoft also announced the integration of the new PY feature into Excel, which allows Python data to be displayed in the grid of an Excel spreadsheet. Thanks to the partnership with Anaconda, popular libraries such as pandas, statsmodels and Matplotlib will be available in Excel.
