Google has redesigned Chrome for the browser's 15th anniversary
Google has revealed an updated version of the browser in honor of Chrome's 15th anniversary. The new design will only affect the PC version for now.
The app is now in line with the Material You design. It also adds a more refined menu for quick access to extensions, Google Translate, Google Password Manager, and other features.
The interface elements of the updated browser have become more rounded compared to the previous version. They also changed the icons and added additional color palettes. Google said that all the changes are aimed at improving the readability of content, as well as making the browser more personalized.
In addition to the browser, the online store of extensions will also be redesigned in the Material You style - its elements will also get rounded corners. AI-based extensions and the Editor's Choice category have been added to the store's catalog. Security checks for plugins have been improved.
Other changes to Google Chrome concern safety issues when browsing the web in Safe Browsing mode. Now the system monitors dangerous sites according to Google's list in real time, previously the list was updated every 30-60 minutes.
The updated version of Chrome will be available to all users in the coming weeks.
