Netflix, Amazon and other companies are offering AI specialists annual salaries of up to $900k

This is according to The Wall Street Journal, citing data from the Indeed job site. According to experts, companies are trying to attract qualified employees by offering them competitive salaries in order to remain leaders in the market. For example, Netflix has posted a vacancy for a machine learning specialist with a salary of $300,000 to $900,000 a year, including base salary and bonus. Dating app Hinge is offering a vacancy for a VP of AI with an annual income of up to $398k, and Amazon is offering a vacancy for a senior AI manager with a salary of $340.3k per year.

Meta offers a generative AI developer an annual salary of up to $137,000. College graduates are considered for this position. Nvidia offers a starting AI specialist a salary from $156k to $247k, Capital One offers a leading AI developer up to $325k per year, and Walmart offers from $168k to $252k.

Remote job search company Crossover closed accepting applications for senior executive and product director positions in June. Both jobs offered a salary of $800k and required applicants to use the ChatGPT chatbot in their work.

Since the beginning of 2023, the number of ads seeking generative AI product developers has quadrupled. But not all companies are opting to hire expensive AI specialists, instead seeking to train their existing workforce.
